I can’t believe it’s been 9 months since the first Art Licensing Intensive Event last December – where HAS the year gone! I decided to throw out two more dates and locations and see what happens.
Here is how the live art licensing events work…
9 am to 5 pm
4 to 8 artists looking to learn in a live, group setting
We will follow a “Mastermind” format where a small group setting helps to raise the bar by brainstorming, challenging and supporting each other in a positive and safe enviroment.
Led by artist Tara Reed, the specific topics covered will be determined by the artists who participate. A questionnaire will be submitted before the event detailing each artist’s background and experience, as well as the topics they most want to discuss in more detail.
There will also be time for each participant to meet privately with Tara during the day to discuss strategy, review portfolios, websites, etc. The goal of this event is to give the artists what they need to take the next step in their art licensing business.
Drinks, snacks and lunch are included. (We will be going to a restaurant for lunch so there will be options for all palates and dietary needs)
We have to have a minimum of 4 artists signed up for the events to take place. If we don’t have 4 by the Monday before the event, they will be cancelled and money paid will be refunded. You can watch the website to see how many have registered – I will keep it up to date as registrations come in. ArtLicensingInfo.com/intensive-event.html

I hope you decide to join me – the first event was awesome and we have all kept in touch and created a great support system. Here is what they had to say about the event…
Tara’s Art Licensing Intensive was awesome! Inviting us into her beautiful home, she made us feel so welcome.
I was really moved by how willing Tara was to share everything she new about the world of licensing in a simple, often humorous way, making it all seem so possible- not everybody has this gift to teach so effortlessly! Tara had prepared binders full of vital information and left no stone unturned.
I may have been the least experienced in the group, there were a couple of ladies who were licensing their work already, yet Tara was able to give all of us, whether we were new or experience, wonderful, useful information and guidance- I left that evening with a much, much clearer vision of how licensing works and how I may be able to make it work for me– Thank you Tara!

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your seminar and all of the artists involved. Much valuable information was shared, and in a warm, smart, encouraging way. 2013 will be the year I connect with a great agent, and it will be because of you and your generosity.
All the best,
Tara prepared an information filled seminar that included everything from personal time management, to understanding contracts, how to decide whether your personality and skills fit best with an agent or not, portfolio development and market research. She makes it clear that there’s no magic bullet, but that there are steps to take and tools to use that can help you on your way. I had a lot of fun throughout the day as she peppered us with stories from her life and life as an artist licensing her work. The small size of the group allowed us to be relaxed and enjoy the time with each other. This day was energizing and inspiring!

“At Tara’s cozy crash course, the Art Licensing Intensive, I had direct access to an expert with years of experience, learned a lot more about the business, and made new friends! It was a great investment and helped give me the focus I needed! Thanks for this unique opportunity Tara!”

Taking a licensing workshop with Tara Reed is an absolute must if you want to get into art licensing. The information you receive from Tara as a working professional in the industry is invaluable. Even if you are not sure about art licensing, being able to ‘pick Tara’s brain’ allows you to really understand what it means to license your art. I am at the beginning of my career as a surface designer and artist and attending one of Tara’s workshops gave me a clearer understanding of the steps I needed to take to begin licensing my designs.
